I love the freedom that drawing brings to the table, so to speak. Some of these are studies for paintings, but on days when I can't get to the studio I'll open the fridge and pick out something to draw. Usually something that feels vaguely anamorphic, maybe something with interesting shape or skin texture. I draw them mostly in pencil or graphite, then head back to the fridge or spice rack to find my colors; mixing turmeric in water, lime peel in egg white, or just grab a beet and slide it down the paper.
